| ‘Concord Kids Count ‘Radio-a-thon | |
|
Held on Friday,
July 18th, (in conjunction with Main Street Concord’s Market Days) radio
station 107.7 WTPL, the Pulse, will set up a ‘live’ station at the
Club’s site in front of Centrix Bank. The Radio-a-thon runs from 6 a.m.
until 3 p.m. Hosts Peter St. James and Ken Cail will share the
microphone with baseball great Bob Tewksbury in the morning, and NBA
star Matt Bonner will join the fun in the afternoon. Air-time is available at two levels: Level 1 Sponsorship - $300, Three 30-second ads during the sponsored hour. (Hours may be shared with other sponsors.) Level 2 Sponsorship - $500 Six 30-second ads, one played each hour of the event. Listeners are invited to call in and offer a bid on a variety of sports-related items, such as tickets to a Red Sox game or to the Sprint Cup Race. Last year Matt donated a pair of autographed sneakers! Last year, generous contributions were dropped off and listeners called in and honored pledges of support. Several businesses offered challenges that were duly matched and exceeded by responders, leading to nearly $17,000 to support the After-School program. From Thursday, July 17th through Saturday, July 18th, children can enjoy a turn in the Bounce House or have their face painted. Shoppers can snack on a bag of popcorn or peanuts, and cool off with a snow cone or cold glass of fresh lemonade. |
